The Scooby & Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour is a 60-minute Saturday morning animated package show co-produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Ruby-Spears Enterprises and broadcast on ABC from September 25, 1982 to December 18, 1982.[1] The show contained segments of Scooby and Scrappy-Doo (Hanna-Barbera), Scrappy & Yabba-Doo (Hanna-Barbera) and The Puppy's New Adventures (Ruby-Spears).[2]
The first half consisted of a 7-minute Scrappy & Yabba-Doo short sandwiched between two 7-minute Scooby and Scrappy-Doo shorts followed by a 30-minute episode of The Puppy's New Adventures in the second half.[3] The Scooby/Scrappy-related shorts were written, storyboarded and voiced at Hanna-Barbera, but animated and edited by Ruby-Spears.[4]
After the death of Ruby-Spears Productions's founders Joe Ruby and Ken Spears in 2020, the package show is currently owned by Warner Bros., through Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Family Entertainment.
