Newage Toys, via theirFacebookaccount, have shared images of the new variants of theirH57 Freyr (Legends Scale G1 Swoop).
Newage impressivecartoon-accurate rendition of G1 Swoopfor the Legends scale has got two new color variants, following the previously revealed toy and G2 deco versions.
- H57B Toruk– Shattered Glass deco with a slightly retooled head.He comes with a pair of extra hands, guns launching-missiles effects and stand.
- H57C Freyr– G1 Comic deco.He comes with a pair of extra hands, guns and stand. A sword is included instead of the launching-missile effects of the original release.

Maybe I'm just lacking imagination, but I can't picture a version that looks at home with Legacy and MP.
If this thing had been slightly larger, it would have been the best Swoop toy ever made.
In hand, the size does let it down, although the dactyl mode is decent.
Such a shame its so tiny, I hope at some point Newage puts out an upscaled version to look at home with Legacy and MP figs.

The base of the head is slightly damaged though. It shouldn't be a problem, but it might turn into one over time.
And I'm in mainland Europe, so I fear selling it to you might be prohibitively expensive.

I sooooo want an na toon red swoop (with yellow bits and toon face) more than any other repaints.
But I am the only who would want such a thing, so understand one isn't being made, but oh man would have been awesome.

So I did that thing.
You'll laugh at me, but I know who'll laugh hardest when New age eventually makes Diaclone deco Dinobots after all… Still you.

Swapping out the torso pieces was easier than I thought. You can just turn the crotch around and swap the legs off course, but you can just as easily separate the spine and head from the torso by loosening two screws. Then it's just a matter of taking a pin punch to those shoulders so you can separate the arms at the mushroom pegs and reassemble the lot on the other chest.
I used a thin gold paint pen on the beak, missile tips and feet.
I also used a couple of decals from that waterside sheet on ebay and aliexpress.
I don't know if Newage will oblige us with the real thing someday, but whether they do or not I nowhave my Diaclone Swoop.

That's so cool – I actually want to create this colourway to get the UK comic colour version of the character. It's an expensive way to do it, but I might just sell on the rest of the other sets to fund it…

Yeah. It sucks that they don't release these decos and we have to buy two figures to get the one we want.
But customization is fun if you're at a point where you feel confident about it.

Sorry to bump a months old thread, but I just got comic Freyr in yesterday from Bombusbee. I had held off on him bc I was honestly kinda bored by what I assumed his transformation would be like, and I was kinda lukewarm on the red "jumper" that the comic coloring had. But I'm 2 bots into the comic line and have a preorder for Gorgo so I figured I better snag Freyr before I couldn't find him. He was starting to sell out in a few stores so I jumped on it. Now that I've had a chance to mess around with him, I'm pleasantly surprised! He's great! Colors are amazing as with most NA figs and the joints are all nicely toleranced. I do find that he's unique from the other Dinobots in that I actually prefer his bot mode to his alt mode. There something about the pterodactyl mode that I've always found to be underwhelming. As a kid I loved Swoop bc he could fly but he is just basically a robot with his arms pushed in and his legs folded back. Anyway, so glad I got him and bring on that purple-headed comic Gorgo!
Finally got the toon coloured version yesterday.
Love it, it's a beautiful work of art … but a tiny one in bot mode.
Any chance they will ever make an upscaled version of this guy?
The good news is the alt mode wingspan as is already looks so wide that dactyl mode scales with just about anything.
With blast effects, it looks even more imposing.

The sticker set someone mentioned earlier in the thread has arrived. I wanted the wings on Freyr EX to be decorated like the G1.

It turns out that they're those water slide things, which I've never used before, and which seem rather a faff. I prefer regular stickers! Also, someone has warned me today that water slides are more more display rather than things you fiddle with, and so they might not last long. Ah well, pretty!

Got my G2 variant of Freyr last week, and while I like my EX version, I still don't like the chrome on the wings and this one feels way more fun with that color scheme. I particulary like that the dark neutral color isn't black but a very dark blue, it works really well with the rest of the color scheme. Also, I love that they painted the visor a similar but different color from the rest of the head, the EX version could have done with at least a nice gloss or something along those lines to make the visor pop with all the black around it. My only nitpick is that I would have loved for the sword to be a nice yellow or orange instead of the regular red, but honestly, that's nitpicking at this point.

Lovely. I think if i hadnt bought Toruk (SG), this would have been my top pic for a repaint option, and i've only bought a repaint for Swoop. I have a feeling it would go great with my Delta Magnus and my Gobot Seaspray. The colors on the G2 really stand out on pictures in a great way, and looks way better then EX to my eyes too, at least on pics / videos. Anyways, thanks for sharing.
